User Guide

An AI panel that stays on top of HWP at all times. Set it up once and templates, mail merge, official documents, and AI-powered text conversion all work automatically.

Quick Start

  1. Run HWP AI Assistant on your Windows PC.
  2. Open HWP and check the connection status in the panel title bar. Green means connected, Red (disconnected) means check if HWP is running.
  3. Register your organization, department, contacts, and approval line in ⚙ Settings. These will auto-fill in all templates and documents.
  4. Press the ? button in Settings to open built-in help.

Auto-update — checks for new versions on startup and notifies you (latest v26.9.17a; works on v26.7.21a and later).

Windows 10/11 64-bit, HWP 2018 or later (works with 32-bit HWP installation).

Panel Controls

  • An always-on-top auxiliary panel. Drag the title bar to move, and the bottom-right corner to resize.
  • Use minimize, maximize, and close buttons to control the panel.
  • When connected, the current HWP file name appears in the title bar.

Settings

Enter once and it applies automatically to all templates and document creation.

Organization Type
Select general organization or school . In school mode, {{부서명}} is auto-replaced with the organization name.
Organization & Contact Info
Organization name, department, phone, fax, email
Signature & Approval Line
Your position and name, approver 1 and 2, final approver. If approver 2 is empty, the final approver moves up for a 2-level approval line.

Special Keys

Insert frequently used symbols and phrases at the cursor position with one click.

  • Shapes & Emphasis — ❏ ❍ ● ∼ ☆ ★ ※ · 「 」 『 』
  • Arrows — ⇒ ⇐ → ← ↑ ↓
  • Roman Numerals — Ⅰ ~ Ⅴ (Ⅵ and above, use HWP Ctrl+F10 manual input)
  • Circled Numbers — ① ~ ⑤ (⑥ and above, use HWP Ctrl+F10 manual input)
  • Edit List Directly — Open the list file with the button to freely add phone numbers and other frequently used phrases. Special Keys Edit Use the button to restore defaults anytime. Reset Defaults Use the button to restore defaults anytime.

Official Document Templates

Double-click an item in the template list to instantly insert it into the current HWP document.

  • Editing margins are auto-set on insert (top 30, bottom 15, left 20, right 15mm).
  • {{기관명}}, {{부서명}}, {{전화번호}}, {{결재자_이름}} Settings values are auto-replaced.
  • Open the folder with the button, add Add Template files and they appear in the list immediately.

Document Templates

All 4 types available

  • 📧 Mail Merge — Reads an Excel file and creates a new HWP document with data in N×M tables per page. Use column header buttons for variables, choose font, size, and alignment, then generate. Pages split automatically.
  • 🪧 Room Nameplates · Certificates · Envelopes — All three use the same screen. Enter fields directly for single prints or use Excel to fill multiple records at once.

Excel reads only the first sheet. Missing required columns will be flagged.

AI

Choose from Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, or DeepSeek. API Key Save API keys per provider in Settings. Press 👁 to toggle visibility.

  • Track Changes Auto ON — AI results inserted into the document automatically enable HWP Track Changes for review.
  • Presets — Select text in HWP: summarize, polish, translate EN→KR, convert to official style
  • Text Mode — Free-form prompt input. Optionally include selected text.
  • Image Mode — Generate images from descriptions and insert into HWP documents (OpenAI, Google supported).
